Something happened at Grams the other day that made me want to give up meat. I told my mom and she said that as long as I'm sick, I have to continue to eat meat.

So. Here's what happened.

Grams went to fix one of those whole chickens; you know the ones that you can't actually See the chicken, just the package? Well, she opened it and the think was practically purple from all the bruising it went through, the thing had wings broken in multiple places as well as the legs, and when she stuck her hand inside, she could feel splintered bones!

I've never see anything like it and I've never been so grossed out. It's like, you hear about it, but it's not really Real if you don't see it in some form yourself.

So what I've started doing (this happened on Saturday, and I've been doing this since then) is eating as much veggies as I can so I don't eat as much meat. Which kinda seems good, as in "weaning" myself off meat? I don't know. Amber says that I should start by cutting out one thing, like chicken, since I'm so bothered by that right now, and gradually cutting out other meats.  That way, I'm still eating meat while I'm sick, but I'm making an effort to do better.  That's probably what I'll do.  But when I'm done with Cancer, I'm Ssoo swearing off completely. I just can't imagine what that poor bird felt, and knowing that we're supposed to be humane! Humane my ass. What a load of horseshit.

And so, on my quest to become a vegetarian, I will be posting recipes that I like or that I'm planning on trying, in case any of you decide to become a vegetarian too.

And here is something else I read today.
